Web Developer
DAN is seeking an individual to handle full life-cycle web development. This includes the design, implementation and support of front-end web applications.

Work performed:

  • Write, update and maintain web applications to support business needs using ASP, ASP.NET, JavaScript/VB Script, ADO, IIS and MS SQL Server.
  • Provide support to end users in the use of web sites and web applications.
  • Troubleshoot errors associated with web technology and use analytic thinking to solve problems.
  • Coordinate with database programmers and provide assistance with database development as needed.

Education:

  • BA or BS degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in development of complex web-based applications using ASP, ASP.NET, JavaScript/VBScript, SQL.
  • Ability to understand T-SQL syntax for retrieving, updating and inserting data.
  • Knowledge of website design best practices.
  • Experience with graphical design tools, such as Macromedia Fireworks, Photoshop and Flash.
  • Visual creativity and expertise in Web visual design
  • Knowledge of browser display differences and experience in coding around them.
  • Thoroughness and an eye for detail.
  • Eagerness to learn, share, and apply new skills and trends.
  • Team player with good communication skills.


Field Sales Representative
DAN is seeking an individual to represent the organization at key industry events, such as industry and consumer trade shows. Ideal candidate will help DAN gain new Business Members, sell products and services to existing business members, and improve DAN's visibility in the recreational diving industry.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Customer sales and service
  • Establish advertising sales accounts for DAN publications
  • Travel extensively 50% (up to 140 days per year)
  • Visit DAN Business Members, dive stores, dive resorts and clubs
  • Attend dive industry shows
  • Assist in managing DAN advertising and promotional efforts throughout the US, Canada and the Caribbean

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Diver
  • 3 to 5 years experience in recreational SCUBA industry, including some retail
  • Must be articulate
  • Must be outgoing and personable
  • Experience in advertising sales preferred

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent networking and communication skills
  • Exceptional working knowledge of Windows applications
  • Strong administrative skills; grammar, spelling, and presentation composition
  • Goal oriented; excellent organization, time and project management skills with minimal supervision
  • Ability to handle several priorities and large projects at once with attention to detail and time requirements
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to prioritize workload in order to meet project deadlines

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree
  • SCUBA Instructor Certification
  • Language Skills (Spanish, Portuguese or French)
